Islamic Chaplaincy of New Jersey

Islamic Chaplaincy of NJ is a 501(c) 3 is a non-profit corporation based in New Jersey. It assists communities at the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder. Part of its work involves providing spiritual and emotional support for incarcerated individuals before and after their release to ease their transition to society, and organizing religious, educational and recreational programs for them and their families. This helps them in becoming productive citizens, thus reduce crime with the emphasis on motivation, building self-esteem and empowerment. The ICNJ seeks to establish working relationships with other interfaith organizations, advocacy groups and governmental agencies to share resources and reduce areas of overlap and redundancy. It also works closely with agencies in city, county, state and federal jails and prisons, parole offices, and other public service providers.
